Conspiratorial hypotheses
Underneath the NABU affair. Provocations and double games. The grand oligarchic condominium. Yermak, Kolomoisky, Levochkin, Pinchuk.
We’ll begin with the latest news on the strange showdown between Zelensky and the anti-corruption organs, and then move onto some speculations on the palace intrigues behind this charade.
— Who is really behind Zelensky’s decision to attack and instantly retreat on the western-created NABU (National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine)?
— How do Zelensky loyalist spooks and security forces feel about having been used in such a humiliating manner? Why did the head of the Security Services say the west’s beloved anti-corruption organs should have been pumped full of bullets?
— How could it be possible that the anti-IMF, ‘anti-sorosite’ imprisoned oligarch Igor Kolomoisky has allied with the western-funded, Soros-funded anti-corruption organs against Zelensky (once the protege of Mr Kolomoisky)?
— What deep oligarchic forces have curated the rise of grey cardinal Andriy Yermak, head of Zelensky’s presidential administration? And what does that have to do with head of the MI6 Richard Moore, George Soros, and Bill Clinton?
— What does all this have to do with the assassination in Spain of Andrey Portnov two months ago?
— Who in Zelensky’s coterie may have to be sacrificed?
— Who is the man that both Zelensky and Yanukovych trusted too much?
But first, a quick interlude. Enough with these oligarchs and their fake protests with spoilt hipsters in the capital, raising English-language cardboard signs to the applause of the western press. No one was arrested, mobilized, or even mildly harassed by the police at the protests in support of the NABU.
But on August 2, ordinary women and young men in the regional, south-western city of Vynnytsia protested against the murderous mobilization campaign. It all started when this morning, 100 men were mobilized and taken to the local ‘Locomotive’ stadium - Estadio Nacional 1973, anyone?
The wives and mothers of those mobilized came to try to free them. They can be heard yelling at the 12 police cars who assembled ‘who did you swear an oath to, the people or the mobilization authorities?!’
Police have been hard at work arresting young men involved and possibly mobilizing them:

Protestors have been trying to break open the gates of a stadium where their mobilized relatives are being kept by the army:
No wonder. I have written at length about the routine murders of mobilized men who put up the slightest sign of resistance.
Back to the internecine court struggles between Zelensky and the liberal nationalists. Both sides support maximizing the tempo of mobilization - the liberal nationalists feted by western publications just believe that Zelensky has monopolized too much power for himself.
On July 31, parliament passed Zelensky’s new law returning independence to NABU. A great victory for the liberal nationalists. On the same day, yet another man ‘threw himself out of the window’ of a mobilization centre. And elsewhere, in Kharkiv, yet another video went viral showing mobilization officials ramming into a man trying to escape by bicycle:
But what does that matter when democracy was just saved in parliament? Who cares about the human material that needs to be utilized for the frontlines - they will all be happy to die in the name of the glorious (and totally ineffective) anti-corruption organs!
Anyway, the obvious interpretation is that the NABU affair makes Zelensky look like a massive idiot - first he steamrolls a law subordinating the anti-corruption organs to his general prosecutor. Then, faced with a few thousand zoomers protesting on the streets and some threats from the Europeans (the US government never said a word about it), Zelensky chickened out and reversed direction.
And to add injury, on August 1 Zelensky loyalist prime minister Sviridenko announced that her government may agree to the EU’s demand to appoint ‘their man’ (NABU detective Tsyvinsky) to head the Bureau of Economic Security. Zelensky’s refusal to do so was a major part of this recent showdown.
All in all, it’s retreat after retreat on all fronts. But are things really as simple as they seem?
Parliament
Those most humiliated are the loyalist parliamentarians who were first forced to vote for the anti-NABU law (12414), then a few days later forced to vote for the opposite (13533). David Arakhamia, head of Zelensky’s parliamentary fraction ‘Servant of the People’, posted the following laughable photo the day 13533 was passed - posing with another MP from the party, they hold a cardboard poster (like the anti-12414 protestors) saying ‘WE ARE WITH THE PEOPLE. FOR THE RETURN OF TRUST! 13533’.
