Transnational scammer mafia + FBI + GUR

I’ve written here before about Ukraine’s scam call centres and how they’re managed by fascists and intelligence services. I’ve also separately written about the possibly forming alliance between David Arakhamia, head of Zelensky’s party, and Kirill Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR). Arakhamia and Budanov are two important candidates for a post-Zelensky government and have been making overtures to Trump as an alternative. Finally, I’ve written at length about Budanov’s role as the main coordinator and patron of Ukraine’s various fascist military units, particularly in their covert operations on Russians soil.

It's a satisfying feeling when disparate threads of research align. And that’s exactly the topic of today’s article.

New evidence has emerged on how Budanov’s GUR has been coordinating Ukrainian call centres in scamming Russians, subsequently using that money to finance the Ukrainian army. And the operations aren’t only financial – they have also been extorting children and the elderly into violent attacks on military objects and personnel, including their own family members. It turns out that weaponizing overly online neo-nazi teenagers isn’t the only weapon the GUR has against Russia.

It also turns out that the central figure in modern Ukraine’s militarized world of fraud has quite a long history in Ukraine’s global scam mafia of the 2000s. Not only was he notorious, but was also a snitch, and cooperated with the FBI to shorten his prison sentence.

And he wasn’t the only one – Mr Arakhamia publicly admits working for this same transnational fraud mafia in the 2000s – but only out of the purest intentions, mind you! There are a myriad of reasons to believe that David Arakhamia – sometimes Braun, depending on the day – cooperated with American intelligence services starting from the 2000s or even 1990s.

In short, plenty to mull over today.
