I heard a saying unfortunately: when people are serious negotiating about a peace deal, they do it in private channels; and when they're not serious, they do it in public channels.
Yeah, I want negotiations sooner rather than later because more lives are lost as it drags on and on. But I think that it might have to do with the narratives that the elites are preparing for the U.S. election. If Ukraine loses before the election, they would think that it looks terrible for Biden. If they lose after the election (a.k.a. are forced to enter negotiations under Russia's terms) and Trump wins, the loss can easily be blamed on Trump.
Medvedchuk is busy with the Russian talk show circuit. As for contacts with ex OPFL in Ukraine, perhaps there are some, but i’d imagine it's quite a dangerous matter
