Analysis of events in Ukraine from a variety of political viewpoints. The Kharkiv military situation, privatization, media hypocrisy, Zelensky-Saudis-Putin, mobilization and the economy
Reading the Kusch section was really ominous; there will be no jobs for refugees to return to if the war stops, will there? I don't know the level of tertiary edcuational attainments in pre-war Ukraine, but I doubt anyone but elites with jobs in multinationals or abroad will see any reasons to go to university or polytechnic if there's no jobs.
My understanding is that the Russian regime is trying to incorporate the occupied territories into his war economy (how successful that is, I don't know). If this is successful, I wonder how it will be perceived by Ukrainian refugees in Russia or even some Ukrainians on the other side of the battlefield.
